As a high school English teacher, I am constantly disheartened that so many of the students don’t read. Sadly, research shows that if 10 to 13-year-olds are not reading for pleasure, they are likely to lose the hard-wiring that would have kept them reading as adults. Reading after this age becomes an unnatural chore, affecting their ability to study at a tertiary level and perform well in the workplace.

The latest research from leading academics at UNSW Business School, one of Australia’s most fiercely respected business schools, is presented for professional for a general business audience in BUSINESSTHINK. UNSW commissioned THE HARD WORD to work with its professors to turn their highly academic research reports into stories that are easily digestible by a general business readership.
